So I was just driving to school listening to the radio and  on kluv radio station, they talked about something that really stood out to me.  They were talking about a father who had posted on his blog asking people to stop calling his daughter beautiful... I was just thinking "whaaa?" and "why?" They went on to explain that he wanted people to ask her instead "what clubs or sports are you in?", "how are you doing in school?", "what do you want to be when you grow up?' He wants to teach his daughter to value herself on who she is  and not what she looks like. That's what stood out to me the most. That's a heck of a father. These days, our society puts so much emphasis on outward beauty that its almost as if beauty=success, but I think inward beauty and who you are as a person is what makes you a successful human being. We need to start looking at what type of person we are becoming, not what type of face or body we want to have because no amount of makeup or clothes will be able to fix that.

  1. I love this so much! I feel like in the beginning when you start talking about the father you seriously do go like whatttt? it makes you think about why the father says that but now that you explain and actually go more in detail it seriously makes so much more sense. I agree, now and days girls only worry about how pretty they look, and don't really focus on there attitude towards people. GIrls now and days are rude, and so obsessed with themselves. I love this post Lily! great job :) it's perfect :D
