Hey guys :)
There's this time of the year that many seniors and juniors look forward to. Okay, I mean mostly girls look forward to. Prom can be a fun night, but all worth a very big price. That's one of the reasons I don't like prom. You look online, and dresses can range from $150 to more than a couple thousand dollars. When you add in the prom ticket, shoes, dinner, photography, and sometimes the Limo ride it all adds up to a very large sum, often around $500 or more. Yikes. And all that for one night? On top of the very hefty cost for prom, school hosted dancing these days is dirty, to put it nicely... 'Grinding' in my opinion is not dancing. I feel it is just a substitute for those that don't know how to dance, and us high schoolers really seem to not know how to dance. However, spending one last night together with friends and having fun before heading off our separate ways could still be worth it despite the price and dancing skills.

It was my brothers 24th birthday last week, however, we didn't get to spend it with him since he lives about four hours away. I know he had been wanting some banana bread for some time, so I thought I'd make him a late birthday present and send him banana bread.
These are the ingredients I used:
  • 1/2 a cup of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 a cup of vanilla or strawberry and banana yogurt
  • 2-3 smashed bananas
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pecan nuts
I mixed every ingredient in order as listed. I mixed one by one as each ingredient was added. Instead of using yogurt, sour cream can be used too, or a healthier alternative could be plain greek yogurt. I pre-heated the oven to 360 degrees. I then got an 8x8 glass dish and coated the inside of the dish with a thin layer of butter before pouring the banana bread batter in. Once the banana bread batter was in  the dish, I added some chopped pecans on top of the batter and put it to bake at 360 degrees for about 45 minutes or until the top was golden brown and the toothpick that a stuck inside the bread slid out clean.

The bread came out very moist and yummy that although I made this for my brother, my family ended up eating the whole thing, so I made a new one for my brother last night. I'll add pics soon so you guys can see the end result :)
