My family has been arguing alot lately. It's stupid.  I'm having a hard time knowing how to deal with this all. If you guys have any good advice please comment below. This is my rant story if any one cares to read.

Mondays really do suck. Or today was just one of those days. Ugh. I woke up today and I was actually feeling pretty fantastic. I went to the gym and came home feeling good. Surprisingly good at that. Even my dad noticed and commented that I should be in a happy mood more often, and I totally agreed. Then for some reason, I feel like he felt the need to just crash and burn down that mood. Before going to school, I ate breakfast and then went to take my dog  out since she is usually in my room since my mom always locks her up in there. She was just kinda hyper and walking around the house alot. Before I took her out, I realized that I really needed to do something before i took her out, which would only have taken about 5 minutes. My mom, not wanting to be around Cookie, my dog, started yelling at her to go to her room. Cookie wouldn't listen because she really wanted to go outside. My mom got pissed and because my mom was pissed, my dad kicked my dog with such force that, obviously, she yelped, and literally spun out. I got mad and demanded to know why he kicked her. My dad tried to justify himself that she wasn't listening to my mom and that he would do it "again and again" if he had to. We continued to argue and it died down after a while. Then, my mom being in a bad mood decided we (me and my sister) didn't deserve a ride to school. Ticked, my dad took us to school. On our way to school, my mom called my dad saying that Mel (my sister) had forgotten to take a picture to school. My dad then went on to say that she was lazy, that she was an idiot, asking if she was just going to school to get stupider, and that she was going nowhere in life because she was lazy. All. Because. Of. A. Goddamn. Photo. This hurt me as much as it pissed me off that he would intentionally hurt her like this. Yes, 14 years old is old enough to know better than to forget a photo, but come on. A PHOTO. I yelled at him, and left without saying good bye and now I feel like such a disrespectful person for behaving that way. Today was just not our day at all.

Although it wasn't hard at all for me to let go of eating fries, I do miss them now and then. So what do I do when I want to eat fries? I just eat fries. However, they are not your conventional fast food fries. These are homemade and actually contain plenty of nutritious value. How? I make sweet potato fries. Before you shrug them off as possibly gross, they are actually really good!
Potato fries:
  •  olive oil
  • 2 sweet potato's
  • salt
  • lemon pepper
  • Parmesan cheese
  • cheese (of your preference)
Pre-heat your oven to 385 degree's fahrenheit. Slice up your sweet potato however thin or thick you'd like. After you've completed that, lightly dress your sweet potato slices with olive oil and add 1 tspn of salt and on a baking sheet, spread the slice evenly throughout the sheet. Leave the fries in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the slices are crispy-ish. Once they are done, add lemon pepper, parmesan cheese, and cheese of your preference to your liking.
You don't even need ketchup to eat them just to make it a little healthier, but you cn eat the sweet potato fries with what ever you'd like :)
AVOCADO BASIL PESTO PASTA... oh my yumminess!!! This is not my own invention/creation/recipe but who ever thought of using avocado is pretty genius. I was looking on pinterest and I came across a photo of avocado basil pasta and it looked very appetizing. So I made it for me and my sister for lunch  yesterday and I was pretty impressed with the flavors. The avocado makes it nice and creamy, which is about the only way I can really enjoy pasta.  On top of that it was a healthy meal so there was no need to cheat on our healthy eating :)

Avocado pasta:
  • multi grain pasta
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 cup greek yogurt plain
  • basil pesto (store bought jar)
  • chicken (how ever much you want)
  • dry basil
  • lemon pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp lime juice
Puree your avocado, lime juice, and greek yogurt together. Put your puree in a bowl and fold in 1 1/2 tbsn of your basil pesto. Just put the pasta to cook as you normally would. For the chicken, add dry basil and lemon pepper and grill it on a skillet using olive oil. once your pasta and chicken are all cooked, mix your pasta, chicken, and puree together and your pasta is done :) let me know what you guys think of the recipe!

I just want to let you guys know that since my post about eating healthy, I've actually kept to it and it has definitely made me feel so much more energized and healthy :) I want to share with you guys a VERY SIMPLE recipe for what I eat almost every morning. If you haven't tried it you might just end up eating this every morning like I have. Not only is it easy to make, but it also only takes like a few minutes to make. This yummilicious breakfast is simply oatmeal

It only requires:
  • half cup of rolled old fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup of vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tbsp of peanutbutter
You can also add craisins and sliced almonds, or mixed berries. This breakfast adds up to only about 200 calories, for those keeping track of calories, and its actually pretty preferable for those early morning gym-goers. Quick and easy!
